Carolina de la Cajiga’s introduction to art started in Paris where she took Art History at the Louvre Museum. She spent hours observing the great masterpieces; seeing how each painter had distinct ways of handling the brush to apply paint, and how sculptors used their chisels in particular ways, leaving one-of-a-kind marks—like fingerprints. This inspired her to become a visual artist.
Carolina is the creator of Katharography, fine art designs which originate from capturing extremely fast moving light which she transforms through painting and sculpting digitally. The result is the series “What you see is not what is but what your mind sees…”
She has exhibited in various galleries in Canada, Mexico, the U.S., and Venezuela. Her artwork is featured in the following institutions: West Vancouver Museum, Business Council of BC, and Richmond Hospital; as well as in private collections in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, France, Mexico, Spain, the U.S., and Venezuela.
