Katherine McConnell is a self-taught artist who was born and raised in Surrey, BC. She works as the lead sculptor at a world-renowned water park company, where she carves and paints realistic and cartoon props on a daily basis.
In 2008, Katherine attended John Casablanca Institute and graduated from the make-up artistry diploma program with honours. In her spare time she teaches herself to paint in a variety of mediums.
In the last year, Katherine has been focusing on painting with oils, mastering different techniques to capture lighting and movement in her works. All of her paintings portray a certain mood or feeling, pulling the viewer into the experience of the subject.
