Celery Sticks is a Jazz group born in Vancouver that combines four different backgrounds to create one sound.
The group features Luke Langston-Bergman on drums, born and raised in Vancouver; he comes from a family of musician’s and has much finesse and cleverness on his drums. Alan Ruiz, from Colombia, has a big interested in music of his own country and Latin music in general, he puts fourth his influences on the guitar.
Brad Pearson, Vancouver, electric and upright classical bassist, started playing jazz and got hooked.
Tobias Soley grew up in Brazil and is very much fond of Brazilian music. He plays tenor saxophone and clarinet, and strives to bring the best energy into the performance.
The group met at Vancouver Community College, which they still attend. They often feature guests, making each performance very unique.
