Nicole Macoretta is an artist and art therapist living and working in Vancouver, BC. Growing up in Sharon, Ontario Nicole began painting at an early age. She turned the storage crawlspace in her family's basement into an art studio where she would spend hours mixing colours, spreading, scraping, layering and dripping paint. The creative process had become her greatest expressive outlet and escape from reality. Nicole embraced art class in high school, went on to study Art History and Psychology from Queen's University, then promptly moved to the west coast to complete a graduate diploma in Art Therapy. She now works as an art therapist with seniors. Nicole believes her paintings are her most honest expressions, communications and documented moments of thinking, feeling and being. They are her truth. Her artwork often reflects her perceived place in the universe and her spiritual connection with nature.
