Originally from Calgary, he spent a few years making short films as well as video work for local bands and now has come to Vancouver to attend Emily Carr. Primarily a filmmaker, he keeps extensive artistic interest with photography, drawing & sculpture.

Owen believes that the lines between skill sets are fluid when pertaining to the arts. His experience in labour oriented employment doing insulation work in a “commercial ventilation unit” factory and repairing vintage Volkswagons that cost less than the speakers helped him facilitate his recent sculpture using 10 pounds of pink and fluffy fiberglass insulation. Above all however, his wish is to create other worlds through the subtle medium of well crafted cinema, thereby embodied into his sculpture and photography works.
