I returned to school as a mature student in 2009 to Langara College, where I completed a two diploma in Fine Arts, and am currently entering my fourth year of studies as a painting major at Emily Carr University of Art and Design.
My current work focuses on an abstraction of landscape as a form of self-expression and I complete the works from a compilation of memories. I previously focused on pleine aire watercolours, but felt the need to challenge myself in a more conceptual way.
I believe that art takes on its own subjectivity, independent from the author/creator, after being created and is open to different interpretations by the viewer. However, I also like to think that some emotional content is conveyed through my work and has an effect on my audience.
